What RTG Supports Multiple Monitors?

Chances are that if you like real-time strategy video games, then you’re already perfectly familiar with R.U.S.E., but did you know that you can hook up R.U.S.E. to your multiple
monitor computers system to increase your view and intensify game play?  Back in September of 2010 R.U.S.E. was released on several gaming and operating systems, including PS3 and Xbox 360, but what most people might not be aware of is that this game is also available on Microsoft Windows as well, which means that setting up multiple monitors isn’t very difficult.

So what is R.U.S.E. all about?  Well if you love war strategy games, then you’ll love R.U.S.E., although what sets it apart from typical FPS or RTGs even is that this warfare game focuses on information attacks, rather than brute force fighting strategies.  R.U.S.E. is a WWII game that has only a single story line, based on the tales of Joseph Sheridan, a member of U.S. Army.  The game follows the path of the AXIS military as they travel and fight the Allies all over Europe and even into North Africa.  General Sheridan eventually becomes a key player in D-Day operations, commanding the troops landing at Utah Beach.  Of course problems arise, despite Sheridan’s ability to secure the beach.

For PC and MAC gamers, the players can be controlled with the use of their mouse.  There are various levels of difficulty that can be selected early on in the game from very easy to high danger.

The multiplayer functionality is a popular function on R.U.S.E., which features an online dedicated server component.  There are multiple modes that are available for online
players, including cooperative and competitive game modes.  Both of which have a loyal army of followers.  One problem that has arisen with many online games is players’ ability to cheat.  That said, Ubisoft announced that they were to introduce a new anti-cheating system called Valve Anti-Cheat System (VAC for short), which did play a significant role in reducing issues with cheating.

R.U.S.E. supports multiple screens on PC and through Playstation Move.  This has been a popular option with gamers that wanted to expand their screen.  This is particularly easy to setup for Windows XP and Windows 7 users that already use multiple monitors, but even gamers that need new hardware have found that it’s not all that tough to setup.  Among options for setting up multiple monitors is using an adapter such as the DualHead2Go, or installing a new video card.  What a lot of computer gamers may not be aware of is that many video cards actually already support dual monitors.  If not, it’s possible to setup for just a few hundred dollars and minimal additional effort.

What is the Best Game for Multiple Monitors?

Game lovers can almost all agree (a rare feat in and of itself) that that the 2005 game that was available on OSX, Windows and Linux, X2 – The Threat, is one of the coolest games
to play using multiple screens.  It was designed to play extremely smooth with the use of multiple monitors and as such it’s was and still is a popular game for gamers that like to create realistic 3 or more screen environments with their computer.  So in the spirit of this game we’re going to talk about the game play as well as how it works with multiple monitor computers and why having multiple screens will make it a better, more fun experience.

First and foremost, let’s discuss what X2: The Threat is- it is a space trading and combat simulator.  The general strategy for space trading and combat simulator games is to start the player out with an old, outdated ship and allow the layer to work his way up through the ranks improving status, power and ability.    If you like old school RPGs (role playing games) then you’ll likely like the style of space trading and combat simulators.  The same general rules tend to apply and you’ll probably enjoy abilities that you gain along the way.

X2: The Threat is set in the fictional space universe of X-Universe.  The updated graphics engine used in X2 has expanded the universe from previous games and included many new missions and over 60 new spaceships that you’ll be able to fly as you improve your rank and grow your strategy.  With X2, you can expect a much more clearstory, as opposed to previous games that are played out in the X-Universe.  In fact, the main enemy that you’ll be fighting in X2 is a race of aliens referred to as Khaak.  This particular enemy is known for their aggressive tactics and is a great nemesis.

When the X2: The Threat was originally released, critics were quite receptive.  The cons were similar to those of previous X-Universe space trading and combat simulators: it takes forever to learn some of the intricate details that you need to know to be good at the game and it can, at times, be slow paced.  For those willing to wade through thick story lines and learn the details though, the game provides a rewarding opportunity to play an in deth STACS.

The basics of the plot line go something like this:  you take on the role of a thief and space pirate- a character by the name of Julian Gardna.  The overall goal for Julian is to uncover the evil plot of the Khaak as they try to commandeer the X-Universe.  To do so you must travel into the bowels of the universe to uncover many secrets. All the while, you’ll be building your character so that you’re able to take on the many threats that oppose you.  You also meet a number of helpful characters along the way, such as:

Brett Serra- Julian’s Friend

Ban Danna- Head of the Secret Service

Kyle Brennan- Julian’s Father

And many other characters that add significantly to the plot line of the overall game.  As is with many RPGs, you won’t be able to play X2 straight through without breaking from the plot line to develop your character, build stats and stature.  This is part of what makes the game fun though, as breaking from the plot and building your character into a strong character makes everything more interesting.

It has been noted that X2: The Threat plays even better when you use multiple monitors.  In fact, X2 has been called one of the best games to play on a multiple monitor computer system.  You can do so on Windows, OSX and Linux, however, Windows XP and later are probably the easiest to setup.  Most Windows operators that try to setup multiple
monitors find that it’s relatively easy to do just by following a few simple instructions.  As long as your hardware can already tolerate multiple screens, then it might be as simple as plugging in the extra monitor and adjusting a few settings within the control panel.  The same goes for spanning your screen during game play of X2.  Most people find that it doesn’t take a lot of effort and adds significantly to the game play.  Creating a 3-screen environment gives you better access to game controls which will allow you to play faster and better.

Overall, X2: The Threat is a fantastic PC/MAC/LINUX game that users that enjoy in depth story lines and great graphics will likely appreciate.  Despite being called slow paced by a few critics, X2 was overall well received, which is why it can be said with confidence that this is a fun game that you will likely enjoy.  Add to the experience the use of more than 3 monitors and you’ll find yourself lost in a space universe that inspires and pushes your imagination to its limits.  Give X2: The Threat a try if you’re ready for a new adventure in an old galaxy- the X-Universe!

iRacing.com: Racing on 3 Monitors?

If you’re into 3-D gaming and in particular racing simulation, iRacing.com provides an awesome experience and can span 3 or more monitors on a Windows desktop.  We’ll talk more about the multiple monitor features in a moment, but first let’s go over some of the
cool features of iRacing.com- the features that make this racing simulator standout above and beyond what you’re use to seeing in racing games.

This isn’t just your standard racing game, iRacing.com has established some powerful partners  with real-world racing companies such as NASCAR- the reason why?  It is a powerful tool that has helped efficiently train real racers.  Much in the way Flight Simulator is used to help virgin pilots learn their way around the cockpit, iRacing.com aims to help better equip racers with the tools to be a more effective race driver.  And for the record, no, NASCAR is not the only major partner.  IndyCar, SCCA, Skip Barber Racing School have also joined in on the fun as well.  iRacing.com was launched in late 2008 and just over 3 years later, in part because of the partnerships that they’ve formed, they have over 30,000 members that participate regularly.

Of course, you don’t have to be a race car driver in real life to enjoy the fast pace, extremely accurate simulation that iRacing offers.  One of the cool things about iRacing is that they have extremely realistic simulations of actual motorsport tracks.  And not only that, but the vehicles that you can choose from are accurate down to the finest detail.  Both the cars and the tracks have been officially branded, so that means you’ll have the actual models, not just cheesy knock-offs, something most gamers hate when they are playing simulations.

So here’s how the game works- if you want to get the basic service you have to subscribe to a minimum of 10 tracks and six cars.  However, there are additional cars and tracks available for a one-time fee, so long as you remain a member to the normal subscription.  Depending on your point of view, you may find that only being able to drive the various tracks and cars when connecting to the iRacing servers a bit of a pain.  But in reality, this means you get updates automatically and so long as your computer and connections are good, then this should result in a positive experience.  Thanks to laser mapping technology, each of the tracks is precise within millimeters of the actual tracks.

As mentioned above, you must connect to iRacing through their website, so there is no standalone client that you must run on your computer.  This is both good and bad.  From the company’s standpoint, this means that there is less fraud and piracy issues to contend with, which benefits the customers and gamers because there are more available funds to pump back into development.  This means expect more updates more frequently.  The downside is of course, that there is no offline mode.   But then again, iRacing is the type of game that most people play on their laptop on an airplane.

One cool feature of iRacing is that manage an official series, giving gamers a realistic shot at gaming glory.  During the year there are 4 official 12-week sessions.  But if you don’t want to play this way, don’t worry.  You have the opportunity to manage your own sessions as well, so you’re not limited to the official session game play.

In 2009 iRacing took online gaming and racing in particular to a totally new level by putting their money where their online championship gamign was.  They actually offered up a price of $10,000 to the winner of their iRacing Pro Series.  But not just anyone could enter.  You had to be one of the top 61 drivers in their A-level serious for any given particular category.  This was, like their other sessions, a 12-week session.  The inaugural Pro Season was the only exception in their history and it followed a 25-week schedule.  It safe to say you had to be pretty dedicated as races were held on schedule every 2 weeks during the session.

For the normal driver, a single monitor computer might be enough, but for the pro iRacer a 3 or more monitor setup really adds to the game’s life-like experience.  If you’re using Windows XP or above, it’s fairly easy to follow the in game instructions to setup your 3 monitor computer and create additional views while playing iRacing.  We’ve written extensively about how to setup various Windows operating systems to use multiple monitors.  Especially with the most recent versions of Windows, it’s almost common sense setting up your multiple monitors and requires little more than clicking a few buttons.  If you don’t already have a multiple monitor computer setup then there are a couple of easy ways to do this: either using a video card that is multiple monitor enabled, using a lap top that has an additional output or using an adapter such as the TripleHead2Go.  Let’s talk about this method in particular, because it tends to be one of the easiest ways to expand your desktop, with very little technological knowledge needed.

The TripleHead2Go is a cool and relatively new adapter that essentially allows you to expand your computer to multiple monitors without installing a new video card.  It’s popular choice because even you’re techno-disabled; you can setup a multiple monitor computer using this adapter in a few moments.  Cost wise, you’ll spend a few hundred bucks, but it’s not all that much more expensive than the alternatives such as buying additional graphics cards, and it may end up saving you hours of frustration trying to get things to work properly.

With iRacing.com, if you wish to expand your view onto more than one monitor, the minimum is 3 total monitors.   This may be a little frustrating for those that are use to using multiple monitors, but that don’t already have 3 monitors setup.  However, the gaming experience that you’ll gain from using this type of setup is spectacular.  You’ll create an ultra real-feeling gaming environment in which you can run the most popular race tracks all over the US and beyond.  There is a reason that guys like Dale Earnhardt and Jacques Villeneuve both gave this simulator their stamp of approval- it’s ultra real
and ultra accurate.  There’s a reason that injured drivers use iRacing to continue to train, even while they are out of commission- iRacing.com’s spectacular accuracy make this the application to run for training and for fun.

If you’ve been considering subscribing to iRacing.com there is no reason to wait any longer.  You won’t be disappointed in a game that will provide you with hours of fun and training excitement.  Using iRacing with the proper setup, including 3 or more monitors means an even better chance that you’ll enjoy the experience and will leave you wanting to participate in iRacing.com’s challenges and trying to be a pro racer.  The fact that you’ve wait so long only shows that you need a push over the edge to get into the gaming spirit and hopefully this article did just that.  If you aren’t sure about expanding your desktop so that you can play iRacing with 3 monitors, I only have two words for you: DO IT.  You won’t regret your decision as it will improve many of your favorite gaming environments, but the least favorite won’t be iRacing, you can count on that for sure.  Those that make the move to multiple monitors for gaming rarely regret it and always find it to be a blessing as they learn that there are more pros than cons, without question.

Trading Computer That Runs Multiple Monitors

You have seen it in movies like limitless and other stock trading movies as well, a trading computer that runs multiple monitors.  There is a reason why you keep seeing these types of multiple monitor computers over and over in the movies and on TV.  It’s because they create a huge advantage over competitors that are not using multi-monitor computers.  In fact, it has become the industry standard in and industry that really plays by its own rules.  If you’re going to be a day trader than using a trading computer that runs multiple monitors is an absolute must.

Personally, I don’t trade stocks.  However, I have friends that are day traders and they all use a trading computer that runs multiple monitors.  I asked them to explain to me some of the advantage of using a multiple screen computer.  They said that the biggest advantage is being able to watch multiple charts and graphs and trade in split second when they realize that they have an advantage and can make money.  Many of these guys have six figure salaries, so it I take their words for gold.  They seem accurate and therefore I believe them.

If you have thought about getting a trading computer that runs multiple monitors, but you were not really sure if it was right for you, I can tell you one thing.  You will see an advantage once you start using your new trading computer with multiple monitors.  It will be one of the top decisions that you can make for your business this year and you will not regret and will wonder why you didn’t do it sooner.

Create a Real Flight Simulator Environment with Multiple Monitors?

Pilots and flight enthusiasts know all about Microsoft flight simulator.  In fact, they’ve been using it for the better part of a decade (if not longer.) And there are many reasons
why, not limited to the fact that it has some of the most accurate features of common aircraft.  Real enough that before I took my first flying lesson, the instructor had me learn the basics with Microsoft Flight Simulator (or FSX for short.)  And it’s not just me.  Flight schools and programs around the country have started integrating Microsoft Flight Simulator into their programs as well, in combination with some pretty awesome multi-monitor setups that create an almost real environment to learn to fly.  We’re going to go over some of the best features of FSX and discuss the best setups as well so that you too can create a realistic multiple monitor flight simulator environments.

When Microsoft released Flight Simulator X, they touted it as the as “an important technological milestone.”  Among the advantages was the ability to play the game without first inserting the disc.  Since it was the first of the Flight Simulator series to be released on DVD-ROM, you can imagine that it also included a pretty sharp graphics update from previous versions.  Technically speaking it was the 10th version of the game to be released, hitting stores on October 17, 2006.  Some of the key new features were navids, GPS and airways.  This version featured over 24,000 airports and 28 detailed cities.  Also included were 18 types of aircraft, which we’ll discuss in more detail in a moment.  It’s also worth nothing that if you bought the deluxe version, you would get an additional 10 cities and 6 additional types of planes.  Three of those planes include the Garmin G1000 flightdeck, a feature that aspiring pilots need to learn.  Another cool feature of the deluxe version is the ability for a player to act as air traffic control for other online users, including an authentic radar screen.  A gold edition was later released as well, which did a couple of things.  It combined the Deluxe Edition and the Acceleration expansion pack into one.

According to Wikipedia, the available aircraft for FSX include:

Beechcraft Baron 58
Beechcraft Baron 58 G1000
Beechcraft King Air 350
Bell 206B JetRanger
Boeing 737-800
Boeing 747-400
Boeing F/A-18 Hornet
Bombardier CRJ-700
Bombardier Learjet LJ-45
Cessna 208-B Grand Caravan
Cessna 172S SkyhawkSP
Cessna 172S Skyhawk SP G1000
de Havilland DHC-2 Beaver floatplane
De Havilland Canada DHC-8
DG-808-S Competition Sailplane
Douglas DC-3
Extra EA-300-S
Grumman G-21-A Goose
McDonnell Douglas MD-83
Maule Orion M-7-260-C Super Rocket on skis
Maule Orion M-7-260-C Super Rocket
Mooney M-20-M Bravo
Mooney M-20-M Bravo G1000
North American P-51D Racer
Piper PA-28 Cherokee 180
Piper J-3C-65 Cub
Robinson R-22 Beta II

Additionally, players can use a few other aircraft for specific missions, although they aren’t available for free flight.  The significance of these aircraft is that they are relatively authentic to the actual controls, handling and features, making it possible to train a new pilot on an aircraft without ever setting foot in the aircraft.

Flight Simulator X: Acceleration was an expansion pack that was released in the US roughly a year after the original release date.  Some of the key features of Acceleration were new aircraft (3 in total), including a helicopter and the ability to “air race” with other players.  Additionally, non-US cities such as Berlin and Istanbul are available for fly over and include stunning and realistic images.

Setting up FSX on a multiple monitor system requires a few things.  Number one is the proper computer components.  In fact, one of the most common criticisms of the game comes from those that attempt to run it on poorly optimized systems.  Although most new computers can now handle FSX, it’s important to note that the proper CPU speeds and multiple cores are generally necessary.  This should go without saying.

Next we’re going to describe how to setup Flight Simulator with multiple monitors.  Of course, before you can setup multiple monitors with FSX, you need to make sure that you computer can handle multiple monitors.  We’ve done extensive writing on this, so we’re not going to cover it again in this article.  That said, if you are using Windows XP or above and you have an extra video output, then the resounding answer is, YES, you do have a multiple monitor capable machine.  The next question is will your hardware allow you to run multiple monitors smoothly.  Especially when you run programs, such FSX, your system might need an extra kick like a high quality graphics card, or even a faster processor.  If you know your computer allows multiple monitors, then proceed to the next steps to setting up multiple monitors for FSX.

One of the coolest features of Flight Simulator X is the its ability to offer multiple views of the space surrounding your aircraft with multiple monitors.  It creates an almost real cockpit environment, perfect for learning a new aircraft.  As a general rule, the center monitor will represent the instrument panel and the view straight ahead, and additional monitors can be used to show the radio stack, GPS, the throttle, or any of the other various windows that are easily accessible in the “Views” menu.

If your video card only allows one monitor connection you have a couple of options.  You can 1) install a second video card or 2) install a card with 2 or more monitor outputs.  Depending on your budget and your overall goal, there are plenty of options available regarding video cards.  Because this has been covered before we won’t really go into
detail, but know that both video cards and adapters can expand your existing monitors.  It’s worth noting that most laptops have either a VGA or a DVI output connector on them, making it relatively easy to expand your monitors on most laptops.  Adapters like the DualHead2Go and TripleHead2Go work well for laptops with no additional outputs.  You will, obviously, need additional monitors as well.  If you need additional help setting up your multiple monitors within FSX you can find it in the “Learning Center” within the simulator itself.  The easiest way to access this is to

A)   Start Flight Simulator X

B)   Click Learning Center

C)   Open the index tab and click the letter D

D)   Go to “Display”

E)   Click Using Multiple Monitors

You may also find the topic “Using Views” (also found in the learning center) relevant to your interests.

It’s quite simple to move between monitors when you have additional windows open, but it typically works best if you give the throttle and the radio their own windows.  It goes without saying that this can be done with other cockpit elements as well.  If you’d like to move the windows between monitors just right-click on the window > click “Undock” > the grab and drag the window into another monitor.  Simple!  One tip that Microsoft recommends is not letting a single window stretch to multiple screens, as this will adversely affect the performance of your machine.

If you’d like more information on setting up multiple monitors inside of Microsoft Flight Simulator X if you go to youtube.com.   Many users have demoed how to do this within the software itself making it easy for you to follow along and set these up yourself.

PC for Gaming

Do you play a lot of games on your computer or even on a gaming system such as Xbox or Playstation?  If so, I am wondering, have you considered using a PC for gaming instead?  There are multiple reasons why you might want to do this and I am going to go into the reasons why a PC for Gaming is better than both a normal PC and a gaming system like Xbox or Playstation.  It is important to realize of course that everyone has a slightly different situation so for some it might actually be easier go with one of the above mentioned solutions.  However, for me, a PC for gaming has been one of the best decisions that I could have made.   It is been a real treat to play FPS (First Person Shooter) games using a mouse and keyboard, as opposed to a controller (which can be rather tricky at times.)  I’ve also noticed better speed and slightly more reliable hardware.  Sure, Microsoft makes good products, but being able to hand select the components that I wanted to use was a real plus.

Another advantage to having a PC for gaming is being able to run multiple monitors and create an really neat 3D feeling environment by using a horseshoe shaped continuous setup.  It is an awesome advantage that many of my opponents online don’t have and has led to increased winning when I do play.

There are some things that you need to consider though, before you run out and buy a PC for gaming.  The number one issue can be the cost.  If you end up doing what I did and buy the absolute best components then you can easily wind up paying considerably more than you would for even an above average computer.  This is a big deterrent for some people that simply can’t afford to piece the machine that they want to buy.  Another disadvantage is that you may not have the knowledge to put the computer together yourself.  If this is the case then you do have options, but it will end up costing you a bit more money- which again tends to be a big deterrent for people considering buying a PC for gaming.

So where can you find experts willing to help you piece together the perfect PC for gaming.   Well online there are quite a few options.  A good place to start is on gaming forums.  There are a lot of forums online that have experts on this type of stuff.  Talking with these guys can be a great way to figure out not only what you need to buy, but if a gaming computer is right for you in the first place.  Of course you should beware that sometimes the guys on these forums can also be a little snooty and may not be all that willing to help.  Definitely consider using the search function within each individual help before making new threads, as making new threads in a great way to get flamed and not given any good information.

Another option, albeit a slightly more expensive option (so it is definitely not for everyone), is to use a company such as multi-monitors.com to help build your PC for gaming.  The guys at multi-monitors.com tend to really know their stuff.  The advantage to going with them is that you’re going to be able to customize your computer to the exact specifications that you want.  This is a huge advantage over having to go to newegg.com and guess at which parts might work best.  It will save you hours and hours of research that you would need to do to put together the perfect system.  This is the option that I recommend, unless you are a little more technical and computer savy.

Tokyo Builds the World’s Largest High Definition Screen

In Fuchu city Japan a new monster has sprung up, but it isn’t Godzilla. It’s their 8,066 square foot monster at the Tokyo Racecourse. This display takes the cake when it comes

to large displays in the eastern hemisphere, it’s fitting that it popped up at a horseracing track. Of course, it’s fitting that the screen has popped up at the gigantic horse racing track, that is sprawled out over a couple of miles. The screen itself is the longest in the world, and for a short while was the world’s largest high definition screen.

Originally built by Mitsubishi Diamond Vision, this screen outdid the square footage of the LED displays you’ll find in Texas or Miami, or even the monster display at Turner Field in Atlanta. One of the interesting things about the display is the length (which as the time of writing is still the longest display in the world.) It measures a whopping 218 feet long and only 37 feet high. The neat thing about this display is that it allows spectators to view up to 3 races at once. At the time it was constructed it overtook the screen at the Texas Longhorn’s stadium for the largest screen in the world. Of course, since then several others have popped up all over the globe, the largest of which can be found in Charlotte North Carolina at the NASCAR track there. An odd fact about this screen is that it’s actually in 5.89 aspect ration, rendering it virtually useless for many other types of entertainment, but it is 720p resolution, which is superior to what most people still have on their home TV. It uses a technology referred to as Turf Vision to display powerful and high impact images, as fans watch from the stands with excitement.

Horse race fans have been overall very receptive of the screen as it seems to improve their overall experience and allows them to enjoy up to 3 races at once. The Japanese are somewhat fanatical when it comes to horse racing, so it seems only right that they should have one of the world’s largest screens in their backyard. As with most of these jumbo displays it has improved the overall user experience as fans flock to see their favorite horse go round.

Does Godzillatron Live Up to Its Name?

Austin, Texas is known for a lot of thing: food; music; hospitality; an exciting nightlife.

Godzillatron

But more recently an addition to the University of Texas’ Darrell K. Royal- Texas Memorial stadium has been making headlines and raising questions. As if 10’s of thousands of fans packing the stadium each week to see the Texas Longhorns play wasn’t enough, a new scoreboard has been turning heads. Officially it doesn’t have a name, other than the Darrel K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium Scoreboard. But others in town know the screen as Godzillatron or sometimes she’s called Adzillatron.

Godzillatron (as we’ll refer to her for the rest of this article) is one of the largest high definition video screens in the world. It was manufactured by a company call Daktronics in Brookings, South Dakota. They are known for producing many of the world’s largest display screens. All total, Godzillatron is a staggering 55.5 feet tall and 134 feet wide (that 16.9 m tall and 41 m for all of you non-Americans.) Just a few short years ago, not only was a screen this size unlikely, but the resolution would have been nothing to brag about, but thanks to changes in technology trends, this screen can brag 2064 x 848 pixel resolution. Not too shabby for a screen that has the square footage of a small neighborhood of homes. Godzillatron debuted in 2006 after a $150 million dollar overhaul to the stadium, $8 million of which was used for the screen. It has become a staple of the stadium and is the centerpiece during the game. Fans are relying more and more on the screens to interact during live games. Godzillatron replaced the previous 2 scoreboards that took up each end of the stadium (the Steinmark Memorial Scoreboard and JumboTron, which could be found on the north end- a video matrix screen. These screens were removed in 2005, just prior to the arrival of Godzillatron. In place of the scoreboard at the North end of the field, the stadium expanded and added more seats.

Although a scoreboard located in Tokyo Japan eventually surpassed it, Godzillatron was for a short time the largest digital high definition screen in the world and is still the largest screen in college football. There couldn’t be a better place for the huge TV- as they say, everything is bigger in Texas and the Texas Longhorns scoreboard is no exception.

As far as things go for other college stadiums, the 2nd largest high definition screen is located at Nebraska and #3 can be found at Texas A&M. Mississippi has also added a giant screen that measures a grand total of 5,217 square feet. It is 112 feet (34 meters) by 48 feet (15 m). But even Nebraska can’t hold up to Godzillatron, which is a jaw dropping 84 percent larger than the screen at Nebraska. It’s worth noting that the Dallas Cowboys have the largest HDTV in the NFL and second largest in the Western Hemisphere.

A controversy has erupted, however, about the screen’s uses during games, leading to its other nickname: Adzillatron. If it isn’t obvious, the reason is because fans say the stadium abuses it’s space to run intrusive ads, which take away from the game’s fun and light hearted (albeit sometimes intense) atmosphere. In fact, at times more than 50 percent of the screen is used to run advertising, which tends to annoy game patrons. Another issue is that the ads tend to be very loud, so that they can be hard, even if the band is playing. Recently fans have begun shouting at the screen as they are blasted with advertising.

Despite some of the known problems, in particular with the advertising aspects, the screen has been an overall welcomed addition to the stadium. It gives fans real time access to replays, announcements and more. And overall, it’s fair to say that this has been a welcomed addition to the field. It goes without saying that every change has its fans and its naysayers, and Godzillatron is no exception to that rule. Regardless of your opinion, it’s also safe to say that monster HD displays are here to stay in sports arenas!

VigiControl: Versatile Video Wall/Data Control Software?

You’re probably wondering if you’ve waited to long to join the growing list of people using video wall displays to enhance their business. The truth is, it’s never to late to make

your business better, which is what you can do with a video wall system. But of course, there are lots of different options for making your video wall work. One of those options is of course, VigiControl. Now don’t get confused, VigiControl is simply video wall software that helps you organize and run your video wall effectively, you’ll still need to purchase some hardware and other tools, things that we’ve discussed at length in other articles. However, what VigiControl will let you do is control the layout and positions of your wall so that you can utilize it to the best of your ability.

Here’s a quick run down on what VigiControl can and can’t do. With VigiControl, you can remotely operate on any PC via a network connection. With this you’ll be able to perform a number of functions, such as saving and recalling layout templates, bezel masking and displaying the desktop of the video wall server that you are controlling. It also allows you to split windows for security and CCTV video walls, making it easier to monitor multiple areas. The beauty of VigiControl though is that it lets you launch and organize your PC application windows both across a network and locally. You can also remotely view content from a range of XtremeRGB video capture cards. When combined with the power to interactively move, size and position application windows or control the video capture cards, VigiControl becomes a very powerful tool.

Another nice feature of VigiControl is that it allows you to save specific wall layouts for given situations, and more importantly recall them as needed. This is going to save you both time and energy, as you’ll be able to quickly setup your video wall display, and make crucial changes very quickly.

If you’re tired of dealing with video gaps or strange effects such as wide casings around the edges, or diagonal lines that appear broken and circles appear elongated then VigiControl can help you solve this problem. The video can be spread across the gaps between screens so that the lines appear straight and the circles actually look like circles. And with the power of input labels, you can allocate specific labels and each input can be given more than one label. The number of input labels that you can create is only limited by the number of graphics cards that you have.

So let’s talk about bit more about the split window function that you can use with a CCTV or with a security system. You can split RGB and DVI windows into windows that you scale and crop into sub windows. These settings can than be saved and easily duplicated, giving you a maximum of 16 separate sub windows. This is particularly useful is you working with specific areas where the capture needs to be individually displayed and controlled, like security and medical imaging systems. Additionally, sub-windows can be resized and cropped using the application Windows properties sheet. You then have the ability to position the sub-window anywhere on the display wall. This is especially useful if you are using your computer for CCTV or Security room video walls.

Of course, the list of uses for VigiControl is too long to be listed here, however, if you’ve got a use for a video wall, then chances are that you can use VigiControl to help make it better. In fact, VigiControl is an extremely versatile program with many additional functions that unfortunately we just don’t have time to discuss in this article. There’s a reason though that it’s been proclaimed the most useful software by many that use video walls, for whatever purpose they may need to use it. Hopefully this article gave you a good run down of some of the common purposes, features and benefits of VigiControl and will help make your purchase of video wall controller software a little bit easier. With the help of VigiControl, managing your video wall will be a breeze.

Regardless of what your business may be, a video is likely to help you improve your business relations, by giving you a powerful display module, and using VigiControl is a fantastic way to do this. Some may suspect that VigiControl is only helpful if you are setting up a security control room or traffic-monitoring center, but the fact of the matter is that VigiControl is a powerful solution for many different types of display challenges. Using VigiControl will give you an edge because of its ease of use features, you’ll be pleased with your decision to use VigiControl as your digital wall controlling software.

Multitasking Applications on Separate Monitors

If you use multiple applications then you probably know just how difficult this can be with an old single monitor setup.  It becomes both extremely challenging and time consuming to constantly switch between various applications that you might be using.  For this reason, there is a serious advantage to multitasking applications on separate monitors.  It is more than just helpful, using multiple monitors is a time saving tool that will allow you do things that you never dreamed possible.  Multitasking applications on separate monitors is an amazing way to increase your revenues and reduce time wasted while working.  More and more people are moving to a setup that allows for easier multitasking by using a multiple monitor setup.  In fact, if you’re not moving towards this type of system, then quite frankly, you are behind the times.  Most people don’t realize just how much time is actually wasted because they aren’t currently multitasking applications on separate monitors. It is such a shame too, because as the economy worsens companies could be saving more money by using multiple screens.

I was recently visiting a friend and talking about the advantages of being able to use multitasking applications on separate monitors.  It was quite incredible how he mentioned that he was using a very similar concept.  He had a 4 monitor computer and with each monitor that he had set up, he ran a different application.   My friend and his employees had learned that multitasking applications on separate monitors was a huge advantage for him and his business.  He was able to help his business grow by reducing waste and increasing efficiency within his office.  This has been a huge perk for his business.

Recently, while at a conference in Las Vegas for FOREX traders, I talked with a guy that, like my friend which I have already mentioned above, used an 8 monitor computer in a very similar fashion.  He was using the 8 monitor computer for multitasking applications on separate monitors.  This was a huge perk, just like my friend, for his business as well.  Each monitor contained a specific application which was really helpful for him.  He said that since he started using a multi-monitor setup to multitask applications on separate monitors that he had noticed a sharp increase in the amount of productivity that he was able to do.  It has been a huge success for him. And I know that he’s extremely thrilled that he was able to start multitasking applications on separate monitors, much like the way he was able to understand the charts and graphs that he must read faster and more efficiently.

There are several ways that you can start employing this technology within your business, and the sooner that you start doing so the happier you’re going to be.  So what does it take to get a multiple monitor setup within your business?  Well the answer is very simple actually, and does not require as much technical information as you might originally.  It does, however, require you to consider what is that you are actually trying to accomplish and failure to do this will result in a poor piece of machinery that does not do what you would like for it to do.  So, for example, if you are a FOREX trader, you’ll probably want a minimum of 4 screens.  You can accomplish this in several ways, the easiest of which is purchase a computer that is already setup for at least 4 monitors.  You can imagine that you need a machine that is equipped to process quite a bit of data and do so fairly efficiently.  So first and foremost you need a powerful processor such as the Intel i5 or i7.  Next you need to consider how much RAM (memory) you’re going to need.  Once you know this then the next question would be, what video card you want to use.  You want to use powerful and efficient graphics cards that will be able to handle a lot of data.  You also want to have graphics cards that have at least 2 outputs each, as this will make it much to setup your multiple monitor computer.

Another way that you can get a multi-screen computer is to order from a company that specializes in multiple monitor computers.  There are a number of these companies around, but the best one is a company that’s called multi-monitors.com.  You can browse their website if you are curious about what they provide, but an even better option is to give them a call and talk about how you’re to be multitasking applications on separate monitors.  Ordering this way will result in a better machine that more closely matches your needs.  I mean let’s face it, you don’t know what you’re doing when it comes to computers.  You should consult with an expert before you make a purchase.  Now it is true that you will pay a bit of a premium to do so, but hey, it will be worth it in the long run and you’ll be really happy that you went with a company that know what they are doing.

You’ll also have to figure out what type of stand you want to use.  There are several ways that you can setup your computers for multitasking applications on separate monitors.  The most common ways tend to be the horizontal setup and the quad setup (for a 4-monitor computer.)  Either will work fine, but it really depends on the amount of space that you have available and how many monitors you think that you’ll need to start multitasking applications on separate monitors.  Don’t worry, if you’re not sure what to buy, you can always talk with the guys at multi-monitors.com about this as well.  They are experts and will know what to tell you to buy.

In summary, if you are considering multitasking applications on separate monitors you’re making a wise decision.  It is a decision that will benefit you and your business and result in greater growth, increased productivity and less time wasted at work.  Your employees will love you and your clients will love you even more.  But before you start multitasking applications on separate monitors you need to make sure you are getting the right multiple monitor computer system for your office.  For this reason it is highly recommended that before you make any purchase, you talk with someone that understands your goals and someone that can help you pick the right system.  Don’t think that just because you’re getting a multi-screen system that it is right for you.   Find an expert and make sure you get exactly what you need to  begin multitasking applications on separate monitors.

Just How Big is the New York Yankees New LED Scoreboard?

If you’re a Yankees fan then it’s hard to miss the new LED scoreboard and jumbo LED HDTV located in Center Field at Yankee Stadium.  Part of a $1.3 billion dollar renovation, this scoreboard wins the attention of anyone that dares to step foot inside the

stadium.  Officially the screen is 103 feet wide by 58 feet tall.  It’s resolution is 1080p, probably better than your TV, and it was designed by Mitsubishi Diamond Vision LED displays.

So what does it take to make 103 feet wide by 58 feet tall HDTV screen?  Apparently it takes 8,601,600 lamps that cover a grand total of 5,925 square feet.  And as if that wasn’t enough, this screen can actually put up a total of 4 images all at once- including picture-in-picture capabilities.  It was designed to be the same height as the stadium’s 2nd deck and occupies about ¼ of the total outfield, but was specifically designed this way so that it wouldn’t over shadow the actual game itself.  It is in a prime spot so that spectators can glance over for highlights and replays, but won’t be distracted from the overall game.  It even gives the players that are in the dugout a good view so that there’s no argument with the umpires.  Just kidding.  Actually teams are prohibited from showing “a replay of any play that could incite either team or the fans.”  And of course, the umps have the last word.

Of course, the mega screen is just part of a new tech development that is taking place at the new Yankee Stadium, where a total of 1,400 other video screens will be used as well, including 550 flat Sony Bravias, and then managed on a mini IP-based network designed by Cisco Systems.  This will allow different ads to be shown to different people at any given moment, which include those famous Yankee Stadium baseball themed marriage proposals.

Speaking of which, how do you get your name mentioned on the big screen at Yankee Stadium?  It’s not as hard as you might think.  You just need to call their front office as it turns out.  They offer a few different services.  Just having a name and/or birthday shown or similar will cost you $10.  If you’d like your name to be shown and announced then you’ll have to shell out $100, but either way it’s worth it, right?

Added to the bottom of the screen, the company Daktronics built a pretty awesome scoring system.  It’s a total of 1,280 feet long, and is made of bright and sharp LEDs as well.  It’s equal to the second deck.  It’s made of hundreds of LED cubes and features other teams info, lineups and even a light show in the evening.  It operates in a similar manner to the Times Square JumboTron.

As bezels on LED screens become smaller, the likelihood that we’ll see larger and larger screens increases because the cost continues to go down and the demand for such features is only going up.  Using a multi-screen mega video wall is a great way to give spectators great information during the game, provide additional advertising revenue and they just look cool.    It’s highly likely that you’re going to continue to notice better resolution and bigger size.  At some point in the not-so-distant future it wouldn’t surprise me if the entire back of a baseball stadium becomes one giant LED screen.  Regardless, these displays make for a nice addition to nearly all live sporting events, and as such their popularity will continue to grow.

Times Square – Mega Video Wall Mania?

You’d be hard pressed to find a person that hasn’t seen a picture of Times Square. Originally named because Time owned the familiar building in the center of the area, that

building has been bought and sold half a dozen times over the past 100 years. On the bottom level you’ll normally find a retail shop of some sort, and floors above have housed a variety of things, including a restaurant and various other endeavors. However, the building is essentially storage and advertising space today, with the exception of the Wal-Greens that’s on the bottom floor and open to consumers.

Reportedly though, the buildings owner makes between $100,000 and $250,000 a month from advertising revenue via both digital and traditional signage that’s attached the buildings outside. A few companies have been featured as the JumboTron on the face of the building. Previously it was Sony, but more recently Panasonic has taken that spot, but more on that in a minute. The biggest sign on Broadway (and in Times Square) is the famously blue NASDAQ sign. Walgreens also currently has a sign that has over 12 million LEDs and is 17,000 square feet in size. It was designed by a company called the Gilmore Group and then built by D3 LED. It’s so large because it actually runs up both sides of the building and loops around the front. Officially it weighs over 250,000 pounds.

1990 was a big year for Times Square. It was the year that Sony installed the first JumboTron on the exterior of the building. It hung for over 6 years until their lease was up. A large LED screen manufactured by Panasonic then replaced them. Above the large LED screen a number of well known companies have been featured. Most notably have been NBC and News Corp (parent company of Fox.) It’s worth mention that more recently Kia, Dunkin Donuts, Chevrolet and Toshiba have had signage hanging above the large screen LED. Over the years the mega screen TV has been used for a variety of purposes. Probably the most famous was when David Letterman was fed live into Time Square via the video wall.

Since 2010 Sony is back in it’s thrown above Times Square, replacing Panasonic and they continue to be sponsored by Fox’s News Corp. This screen real estate is considered to be some of the most valuable advertising space in the world. It can be rented by the day, or even the hour for special events and product launches. The fee is over $10,000 an hour though, so you better have your credit card ready.

Digital signage is an increasingly popular medium to reach potential clients and to help brand products. It’s no surprise, but Times Square is just one example of where you might find large digital screens that are used for advertising. These types of mega screens are popping up all over the place. While Times Square is probably the best known some other popular places are casinos, trade shows and even office buildings are popular places as well. Thanks to multiple screen and monitor technology these types of displays are more economical for smaller and mid sized businesses too. The invention of millimeter bezel has played a large roll in this increase among less known companies. Of course it will still cost you, depending on how big of a screen you want to use, but it’s significantly less expensive than it was even 5 years ago. And even more important than price, the quality of the screens has gone up dramatically. You can now have a multi-screen system that has 1080p resolution, higher than what most people use for their TV and even their computer!

The JumboTron in Times Square is highly recognizable because we’ve all seen so many movies and TV shows featuring images of it. But with that said, the technology implemented there has led to many other awesome companies creating similar displays. This seems to be the wave of the future, and with multiple screen displays being organized and used, it should make the future an interesting one.

Skydome (Rogers Stadium) JumboTron – Keeping Up with the Future?

Until the Charlotte Speedway and Dallas Cowboy’s Stadium built their mega screens, the largest screen in the world was found at the (then) Skydom (now referred to as Rogers

Stadium).  It was quite a monster measuring 33 feet high and 110 feet wide.  It still remains one of the largest in North America.  In fact it was redone in 2005 when Rogers Wireless bought both the Toronto Blue Jays and the Skydom arena/stadium.

Here’s a little bit of information about Rogers Stadium, where the famous Viewboard is located.  The stadium was originally built in 1985 (finished in 1989) and was known for it’s retractable roof (the first of it’s kind at the time.)  In 20 minutes time the roof can be opened or closed, depending on what the weather is permitting at any given time.  The stadium was made to seat 46,000 fans, and that includes 70 hotel rooms that overlook the field.  When originally built, the JumboTron was the largest in the world and was comprised of hundreds of small CRT units that created a monster display.  The downside to this old style of displays is that they don’t hold up very well, are expensive to run and the image quality leaves something to be desired.  However, in 2005 when Rogers Communications bought the stadium, the new owners revamped many of the stadiums decaying features, including the JumboTron.

The new owners of the now called Rogers Centre created what some call a unique Videoboard, one of the largest in the world.  It measures 110 feet wide and 33 feet high.  Rogers Centre is used for wide array of events that include baseball (the Toronto Blue Jays), football and concert events.  The videoboard services all of these events and adds something special to each of them.

Megascreens are becoming commonplace at large stadiums and as the technology improves, we’re going to start seeing larger screens, such as the Videoboard, and we’re also going to see them more frequently.  It’s quite amazing how quickly the technology is growing, and don’t expect for it to stop any time soon.  Here’s the thing- multi-screen video walls have become cheaper and here’s how:  because of the micro bezels that are common place with big screens these days, it makes sense for these huge video walls to pop up more and more.  Small bezel and multiple screens means that it’s significantly cheaper to put together extremely high resolution monitors and create a mega screen video wall.  In fact, we’re not just seeing these types of screens at stadiums any more.  We’re seeing them pop up all over the place- at businesses, tradeshows, heck billboards and even the sides of buildings have become home to these jumbo screen video walls.   But the Rogers Centre was doing it before anyone else and quite frankly they did it better for many years.  While they may not be the biggest anymore, their Videoboard is easily one of the top screens in North America and certainly still worth noting.

The World’s Largest HD TV – Seen at the Charlotte Motor Speedway

If you’re passing through Charlotte Carolina any time soon, then you might see from the road what is now officially the world’s largest HD screen. It’s a monster that towers over the track and takes up a whopping 16 thousand square feet. Yes you read that right; it’s

about 8 times the size of a decent sized family home. Upon its introduction in May of last year (2011) they demoed the screen by allowing a few very select people to play a NASCAR video game. Now that’s something that I think all of us that grew up with Nintendo probably dreamed of at some point or another. The game they played was called iRacing. And it’s worth noting that the graphics on this beast are not too shabby in the resolution department either, at 720p. Ok, so it’s not quite as good as the Jerry-Tron’s 1080p (this is the slightly smaller screen found at the Dallas Cowboy’s stadium.) But it’s nothing to flame either. 720 is better than all of the old CRT TVs and monitors, and the early plasma screens were only 480 p.

On May 21 of 2011 the screen made its racing debut at the NASCAR Spring All-Star Race giving fans an exciting glimpse of the race that you wouldn’t be able to see unless you are at home. As sports fans there is nothing that we love to see more than replays, action shots, and zooming in to find out what really happened as they took turn #4. This mega screen gives you the opportunity to do just that. It creates an awesome environment to watch the screen live sports, but gives fans a chance to see above-mentioned attributes that they previously could only see if they were watching the event at home.

So what are the specs on what some have referred to as Godzilla-Tron? It’s about 200 feet wide and 80 feet tall. The idea is to create a screen that can be seen from anywhere within the grandstands- from turn 4 all the way to the front stretch and turn 2.

The announcement of plans to introduce the mega video wall were introduced by familiar NASCAR announcers Jeff Hammond and Mike Joy in a spectacle that included them arriving at the construction site on front-end loaders. The screen, which was actually completed before actual construction began in January of 2011, was actually made in China by Panasonic (also known for their mega screen in Time’s Square.

This screen creates what some refer to as the ultimate experience at a sport event, especially a live one. Whenever you combine the sharp detail that you get while watching at home, with the excitement of seeing the event live, you know that you’re getting something special and unique. As fans begin to become accustomed to these types of screens we’re going to see more and more of them and I for one am all for that.

The Jerry-Tron Cowboys Mega HD Display

If you are a Dallas Cowboys fan, then chances are I don’t have to tell you about the new mega video screen that hangs from the ceiling at the Cowboys’ home stadium. It’s quite an amazing display and one of the first of it’s kind. We’ll get down to the gritty details

and specifications in a moment, but first let’s talk for a minute about the old displays that we’ve grown accustomed to inside of stadiums and arenas. It use to be that if you wanted a JumboTron display you had to go through Sony- they patented and trademarked the JumboTron in the early and mid 1980s. Not only that, but they used old cathode ray tube technology, or what we geeks call CRT. You probably had a CRT TV up until recently (or heck you might even still have one.) And if you know anything about CRT technology, you’ll know that it’s heavy and it doesn’t tend to last very long/well.

Over the last decade though we’ve had a few different technologies start to take over. They’ve made making custom giant screens less expensive and higher quality. And it should go without saying that the Cowboys have finally taken advantage of this awesome technology. The have the largest high definition TV world. In fact, just to put it in perspective, the Jerry-Tron is bigger than most houses. It’s even bigger than some large office buildings! It occupies a total of 11,520 square feet and measures about 160 feet by 72 feet, or for you non-Americans that’s 49 meters by 22 meters. But here’s what’s so cool about the Jerry-Tron: it’s complete HD and has a screen resolution of 1080p. That’s better than what a lot of people have in their home.

Of course having one of the largest TVs in the world doesn’t come without its own set of problems, especially if you’re the owner of the Dallas Cowboys. You see the rule for the NFL is that a JumboTron must hang at least 85 feet in the air. The Jerry-Tron meets this requirement by hanging at 90 feet in the air, but for some fans and critics alike that’s not good enough. They want it to be raised. The problem is that if it’s raised, the experts say it will render the massive display inoperable. So instead the NFL has agreed to make special rules for the sign. The deal is that if a ball strikes the Jerry-Tron then the ball will be ruled immediately dead. The replay assistant will be used if there is no ruling on the field. A coach’s challenge is allowed if it appears that no ruling will be made otherwise. The down is to be immediately replayed in this event. The clock will be reset to the time at which the snap occurs.

These jumbo screens, such as the Jerry-Tron at Cowboys’ Stadium make live sports significantly more exciting for the live audience. You get all of the advantages of watching the game at home, with all of the excitement of getting to see a live sport. It’s definitely the best of both worlds and I think that it’s safe to say that with their Jerry-Tron mega wall the Dallas Cowboys are leading the way. It’s both impressive and awe inspiring for everyone that has the privilege to go see a live game. Make no mistake, video walls and jumbo HD screens are the future of live entertainment, but the Dallas Cowboys are leading the way with their mega Jerry-Tron. It may dwarf all other mega HD screens, but I’m certain that there will soon be a screen that is even bigger that’s ready to compete.

Famous JumboTrons

In America, we tend to like to do things bigger and better. When it comes to our TV screens, there is no exception to this rule. In nearly every major city you’ll find a stadium, an arena, or heck- the side of a building that is lit up by what we commonly refer to as JumboTrons. These are large screens that were originally developed by Sony and have since been perfected by many of the world’s other great technology producers. While Sony owns the trademark JumboTron (and ceased selling them in 2001) there are newer and better solutions for the jumbo screen market.

Sony amazed the world when they first released the JumboTron and their screen was recognized as the largest non-projection screen video display ever. The original

JumboTron was made of up multiple modules. Each of these modules were composed of 16 or more small flood-gate CRTs (that’s cathode ray tubes- think old school computer monitors and TVs). Inside of the modules you could find 2 to 16 pixels, which were composed of green, red and blue phosphors. A very similar model was first demoed in 1985 at the Expo ’85 World’s Fair. The creative director Yasuo Kuroki is credited with the development of the first JumboTron. More recently though LED has become a growing trend, allowing big large screen makers to produce cheaper and longer lasting screens. In fact, it’s not at all uncommon these days for digital signage producers to put together signs made from a dozen or more small screens. This is both more cost effective and helpful in the event that a screen needs to be replaced. LEDs also last longer and are easier to work with because their weight is far less.

The largest JumboTron in the world is located in Texas at the Dallas Cowboys stadium. It is an eight sided (octagon.) Cowboys’ fans can view highlights and replays as well as other promotional material from nearly any angle within the stadium. It’s quite impressive. If you’re looking for the largest non-octagonal JumboTron then you’ll need to head northeast over to the Brave’s stadium, Turner Field, located in Atlanta Georgia. Meanwhile a few miles down the road in Marietta, Georgia you’ll find the largest large screen multi-monitor display in a high school. The name of the high school is Lassiter High School.

Up until a few years ago you could find a large JumboTron display in Tampa Florida at the Tampa Standium. Size-wise it was a whopping 30 feet (9 m). Unfortunately, one drawback to screen this large that used old technology is that the resolution is absolutely horrendous. For this screen it was 240×192 pixels. Fortunately, with newer technology (read: LEDs and multi-screen large displays) resolution is quite spectacular. The beauty of these multi-monitor systems is that they have a very small bezel, sometimes in millimeters, so it’s not noticeable to the untrained eye that they are actually multiple monitor systems. Bezel just means the inactive part of the screen that creates a border. If you were dealing with a few millimeter bezel though, it you wouldn’t notice any bezel at all unless you are extremely close to the monitor.

So where was the largest JumboTron ever? It was actually in Canada at the then called Skydom (it’s been renamed the Rogers Center), which is located in Toronto, Ontario. It measured 30 feet tall and 110 feet wide. This was an old system that was composed of CRT monitors as we discussed above. It cost around 17 million dollars to build. If you were to compare that display with a similar one today that is composed of LED screens you’d only spend around 3 millions dollars! If you take into account inflation that’s a HUGE difference! The above-mentioned JumboTron was torn down in 2005 when the stadium did a renovation. To date it hasn’t been matched.

Thanks to improving technology, jumbo monitors have become commonplace for business, sports teams, news networks, hotel chains, advertisers and trade show specialists. It’s not uncommon at all to see a multi-screen wall display at a trade show or in an office building because they no longer cost millions of dollars to design and implement. Sports teams use better resolution these days and often even give participants the ability to see what’s going on play-by-by with fantastic resolution. It’s clear that as technology continues to improve, and thanks to the use of multi-screen video walls, we’re only going to see more of these types of jumbo monitors popping up all over the place. It’s exciting to watch and I look forward to seeing what the engineers and architects of this technology are going to be able to come up with next. It’s clear that anything we can dream of can become a reality and it’s only going to get better.

Multi-screen Setups

If you could figure out a way to make multi-screen setups the norm in your office space, don’t you think that would be a good idea?  No, I am not being facetious- I am being honest, because unless you have started researching and using multi-screen setups then you are behind the times.  Have multi-screen setups are huge for business both large and small and your business should also be included in this as well.  If you are looking for a strong way to grow your business, then having a multi-screen setup could be it.  Are you ready to learn the advantages of having a multi-screen setup?  There are lots of advantages to having a multiple screen setup, but I’ll just list a couple for you.

When people think about multi-screen setups, they tend to think that they are only good for a few different types of professionals.  For example, people tend to think that multi-screen setups are relevant if you are a day trader, or if you are into other fields like this that are similar.  But the fact of the matter is that people all different types have started to use multiple monitor computers.  Even professions such as teacher, doctor and lawyer can find advantages to using a multiple monitor setup.  There is a serious advantage to those that are willing to embrace this new technology and use it to their advantage to make sure that they have a clear cut edge in the market.

Multiple Monitor Display

Why do we keep hearing about a multiple monitor display, not only in the workplace, but in many other places as well?  It seems like everywhere I go, either on the internet or even watching TV, people having been switching over to a multiple monitor display.  It is a trend that’s growing, according to several popular tech websites and magazines.  It is growing so fast that I started to research why companies have started gearing toward using multiple monitor display as opposed to using a single monitor display like they use to use back in the day.  As it turns out, the answer was pretty simple.  Companies have discovered that using multiple monitors have increased their workplace productivity, which in the long run have allowed them to grow in ways that they never realized would be possible.

Google is great example of a company that encourages the use of multiple monitor display in their workplace.  They seem to really know what is going to make a company tick and this has lead to better workplace environment.  They know that having employees use a multiple monitor displace instead of the traditional single monitor display may lead to better results.  When you’re a big company like Google, everything you do tends to trend towards how can you grow and how can you make things better in the workplace.  For them, it happens to be using a multiple monitor displace in the office place. For your company, using a multiple monitor display could be the key to increasing your productivity as well, which in the end will result in several very important things.  Your profits will grow and your employees will likely be happier.  After all, an employee that feels like he or she is working less will feel better about the job that they are doing.

Multiple Monitor Computers

Welcome to real world I say to you, it is time you step up your game and understand that what makes a company run more efficiently and also helps a company increase their net revenue.  Multiple monitor computers are a key to making a company grow strong, fast and furious.  You might be asking yourself, why would a multiple monitor computer benefit my company?  Well I’ll tell you- being able to multi-task is an incredibly valuable trait.  Having multiple monitor computers can help someone that may not be the best at multi-tasking be better at it.  It is a very important skill to have.  So you should learn how to multi-task with multiple monitor computers so that you are a better and more productive worker, which will in the end result in high net revenue for your company.

Some very powerful companies have started using multi-monitor computers and for good reason.  Companies are finding out when employee are able to bounce back and forth between computer programs easier tend to get more done during the day.  The result is higher productivity for the workplace and the end result is increased profits.  Most companies aren’t even aware that they are wasting money because their employees are (silently) spending time moving back and forth between applications, when they could actually have these programs open and ready to use.  This would mean that they would be more productive- that less time would be wasted.

As business owners start to catch on to this trend I think that we are going to see an interesting trend in work.  Multiple monitor computers mean that more work can be done in less time.  As is such, this could actually mean a shortening of the work week, something that much of Europe already has.   Because countries like France refuse to allow more than 30 hours per week for full time workers, they could also benefit greatly from using multiple monitor computers.  This should be a trend that catches on with the rest of Europe as well.  Swedes aren’t particularly known for their work ethic, but if they were using multiple monitor computers, perhaps we’d see a shift.  Perhaps we’d see more work done and Sweden could turn into one of the more productive countries in Europe.  They already have IKEA, why not make them a better nation by using simple multiple monitor computers?

So You Want to Be a Day Trader?

Prior to day trading, if you wanted to buy a stock, it was quite a complex process. First and foremost you would have to have a broker to order. The order would then be sent to the exchange floor to a specialist that would find a seller, match them with the buyer and actually write a physical ticket. Then confirmation would be sent back to the brokers for both the buyer and seller. Commissions of 1% were always charged to the total amount of the trade, in addition to what you paid for the stock. Then in 1975 things began to change as the SEC made fixed commissions illegal. This is when we started seeing discount brokers for the first time.

Day trading is simply buying and selling of stocks, options or commodities and the ability to have your positions closed by the end of the trading session. Unlike prior to 1975, now days you don’t need to be a financial company or professional investor to be a day trader, anyone can trade stocks as rates are extremely low and the entry point is cheap. Additionally, technology advances have allowed casual workers to start trading from home with nothing more than a multiple monitor computer and an internet connection.
There are several different strategies that day traders use and I’m going to go over a few of them:
Trend trading is the belief that if a stock is rising it will continue to rise, or if it is falling it will continue to fall. The general rule is that you try to enter the trade in the direction of the trend and then exit once the stock breaks this trend.

Contrarian trading is the assumption that prices have been rising or falling quickly and with momentum and therefore the momentum will soon reverse and start going in the opposite direction.
Channel or Range trading is the assumption that because a stock has typically traded within a certain price range or channel that it will continue to do so.
Scalping is sometimes called spread trading and allows the trader to take profits where gaps expand and contract. Technical indicators such as support and resistance level now make this a popular strategy to use.

Tremors or New Event trading is what it sounds like- paying close attention to social signals that might cause a spike or dip in price. This is a very volatile way to trade.
There are of course other strategies that can be used as well buy these seem to be the most popular among modern traders. Of course, having the right trading software and proper equipment, such as a multi-monitor computer, can make all the difference if you are just starting out as a day trader. There are also a number of quality forums and education programs that can help you get your foot in the door as well. Hopefully though, this article will help you understand where to start. If you truly want to be a day trader, then reading and education will make all the difference in your success.
